It always has amazed me how many children could make it all the way through school without being able to read.

Reading is one of the most important fundamental skills that any person should possess. A person's ability to read and comprehend what is read will contribute to the success he or she will have in life. A child that doesn't learn how to read will grow up with self esteem issues, be limited educationally, and also have difficulties in the work place.

Early reading should be encouraged in a positive, and non-stressful manner.
Little First Books was developed with the goal in mind to make available printable books with friendly characters, age appropriate for Preschoolers and Kindergarten aged children.

About Little First Books

Little First Books are created in my imagination! The original concept was to create printable readers that went beyond the Dick and Jane style.

My original focus was on creating little books that would engage a child's attention, and help shape their curiosity to want to read more. Children are more apt to pick up a book and attempt to read it if they are interested in the subject.

I also wanted to keep the reading experience a positive interaction between teacher, or child care provider, or parent, and child.

Little First Books are all original, text and graphics are designed by me! Photos have been taken by me with my digital camera.

Little First Books are geared toward preschool and kindergarten children, however, the simplicity may work well for children that are having a difficult time learning to read or with learning challenges.
